Job Description

An established small law firm in the Greater Hartford Connecticut area is in search of an experienced Immigration paralegal with a minimum of four (4) years of experience. Duties include:

 

  1. Communicating with clients;
  2. Answer and direct phone calls;
  3. Organize and schedule appointments and Court Calendars for Attorney;
  4. Plan meetings and take detailed minutes;
  5. prepare/distribute email, Memorandums, letters, faxes, forms and pleadings;
  6. Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports;
  7. Develop and maintain a filing system;
  8. Update and maintain office policies and procedures;
  9. Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers;

            10        Maintain contact lists;

  1. Book travel arrangements;
  2. Submit and reconcile expense reports;
  3. Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients;
  4. Translating documents written in a foreign language (Spanish).

 

Qualified candidates should also have:

 

  • Proficient in typing and computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and MS PowerPoint.
  • Must be highly detail oriented, organized, and professional;
  • Must possess Professional attitude and appearance, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish required any other language is a plus;
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • High School degree; additional qualification as an Administrative assistant or Secretary will be a plus
  • Legal Billing/Time Management experience is a plus.
