To our community partners and HUD service sponsors,

We are reaching out with a critical invitation to help ensure that the voices of the people you serve are heard in a meaningful way. Two public comment sessions are approaching, and it represents an important opportunity for individuals who rely on HUD-supported programs, (CDBG, HOME, HOPWA & ESG) to share their experiences, concerns, and hopes directly with decision‑makers.

Your clients trust you. They look to you not only for services, but for guidance and connection. By encouraging them to attend this session, you can help empower them to speak about the realities they face every day, realities that shape how our programs should evolve.

Please take a moment to personally invite your clients to participate. Let them know that their stories matter, that their perspectives carry weight, and that their presence can influence the future of HUD programming support in our community. Whether they choose to speak or simply listen, their involvement strengthens the collective voice advocating for fair, accessible, and dignified housing, training , technical assistance for small business and other supportive services. Attached is the notice with additional details. If you have clients with transportation concerns, please let us know so we can assist with making arrangements. Sessions will be held on April 20th at 5:30PM at Court of Common Council (Hybrid).  Session two will be held on April 29th in person at 12PM at City Hall Function Room.

We are here to support you, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sheryl  Horowitz, at Sheryl.Horowitz@hartford.gov or 860-757-9276.  Thank you for your continued commitment to the individuals and families who depend on HUD services. Your leadership and encouragement can help ensure that this public comment session reflects the true needs and experiences of our community.
